Blender Game Engine : RTS Building System




A small demonstration I’ve been working on. It contains a basic system that allows the Player to place buildings at random locations, if the land is flat. The placement requires enough « supply » which could be replaced with any random resource. The energy level is reduced with each building, and the income stops if there is no energy.

This whole project was done in Blender using mainly Logic Bricks – just a few things corresponding to the UI needed Python scripts, and the mouse tracker of course.
The Textures were taken from http://cgtextures.com/ and modified afterwards. The sounds were taken from http://http://freesound.org/ , with a Creative Commons 0 license and have been layered and modified.

I would consider this demo rather rushed, as I created this for testing out the possibilities of logic bricks and to expand my knowledge.
