See how to use parallax occlusion mapping in Lumberyard to procedurally create 3D definition in textured surfaces. In this “Tricks of the Trade” demo a flat fire pit texture springs to life without the potential performance burden of creating the effect with geometry calculations. Instead a simple grayscale texture displacement map provides the elevation data for the engine to render.
