It’s a debate as old as time: Unity, or Unreal Engine? Plenty of channels have offered their opinions on this topic, but I want to share what I believe is a more pragmatic approach to selecting a game engine for your indie game.
There is plenty of love about both engines, but just like Blender vs Maya, they’re just tools – nothing more, nothing less – and this choice doesn’t dictate the final quality of your game. Sometimes you just need to ignore all the buzz around the latest tech demos and feature announcements, and consider the progress you’ll make by sticking with a single engine for the long term.
