Tutorial to show how to create normal maps for parallax in UPBGE with Gimp.

Of course, if you play with Gimp settings, you can create better normal maps.
What is important to know is that the parallax height is set according to normal map texture alpha channel. When you add the greyscale into normal map alpha channel, the more pixels are black, the more depth will increase.
