Hello guys! I’m back with another update for Purpose: Versus, though this time I thought I’d try something new and actually speak to you guys. This was mainly to announce the changes I am making to the upload schedule as you see in the video, however I’ve decided that from now on, I will be conducting all future updates in this manner.
Also, like I said in the video, due to me now moving deeper into the more complex and intricate gameplay mechanics of Purpose: Versus’, the combat being the longest part to complete, I’m not going to be able to pump out update videos onto this channel as frequently as I have been doing so before, since each update video on this channel is designed to show a complete, final result of a mechanic I’ve worked on. Therefore, to keep content coming out as regularly as possible, I have started the ‘decimal series’ (as explained in the video). I’ve uploaded #8.1 publicly to give an example of what to expect in the decimal series (though the rest will be more in-depth).
Also I know a lot of you have been asking for tutorials, therefore I will make them and post them on the Purpose: Versus patreon!
Now believe me, I would do this for free, and before, I had already told a lot of you that I will do tutorials in the future after the game’s release, but the time needed to do these tutorials would interfere with me providing money for my living expenses. However, if these tutorials directly helped me with living expenses, that issue would be gone, so you guys don’t have to wait anymore and I can be giving you tutorials RIGHT NOW, while I am working on Purpose: Versus! That way, I can survive, and in return, I provide you tutorials! We both win!
My tutorials will be on how to do the mechanics you see in Purpose: Versus. I’ll include tutorials on game logic, character mechanics, how I make animations for games, 3D modelling & texturing, etc – however you’re more than welcome to request a tutorial on anything else you’d like me to cover and I’ll let you know if I can deliver that too! Keep in mind that tutorials will be for UPBGE (Blender Game Engine), however I have found that the concepts behind most of the techniques I use can be applied similarly in other game engines like Unreal and Unity.
**What is Purpose: Versus? It is a level based, story driven Action-Adventure game made with UPBGE 0.2.5 (Blender Game Engine), solo-developed by Stephen Ddungu (me).**
