In this unreal engine 5.5 tutorial we’re using Niagara Fluids to create a volumetric, real-time simulation of a missile swarm. I go over creating particles, placing them on a sphere shape, pushing them outwards with a point velocity, and then using them as a source for smoke and fire. We also tweak the overall niagara simulation settings to get a nice smoke trail that doesn’t dissipate too fast. This visual effect is loosely based on the desert attack scene from Dune.
