This video is a quick step-by-step tutorial on creating a basic procedural animation system from scratch, for a bipedal walk cycle.
There is much more that can be done beyond this and to improve the system, but it should give you an idea of a place to start, where you can learn some of the fundamentals and begin exploring your own ideas and concepts for procedural animations.
Some areas you are challenged to improve upon:
– Add sphere traces to make sure the feet always hit the ground on any terrain
– Rotate the feet based on the ground
– Lift the feet during transitions
– Both feet jump on the initial move
– Explore using IK nodes not just FBIK for more control
– Buy my course (???)
– Bring back stop-motion pingu
