Let's Make Fireboy and Watergirl - Unreal Engine 4 Side Scroller Tutorial

Fireboy and Watergirl is a classic 2D flash game. So I decided to remake the game in Unreal Engine 4. In this video tutorial, I’ll teach you how to make a side scroller in UE4 with the gameplay mechanics that you find in Waterboy and Firegirl!

This is a side scroller tutorial for Unreal Engine 4. I don’t think there’s any tutorials teaching the type of pawn movement that you’ll find in this video. You’ll be able to control both characters with your keyboard just like in the original 2D flash game: the arrow keys for Fireboy and W, A, F for Watergirl. We’ll also create the pools that kill the players. And to finish off the tutorial, we’ll create a level that moves a platform up and down. Lot’s of fun blueprint programming in this video.
